Big Beautiful Bill Passes: What the 2026 Tax Stamp Repeal Means for Suppressor Buyers Today

Big News for Suppressor Buyers: Choose Free or Fast Track at Fletcher Arms!

There’s never been a better time to buy a suppressor—and Fletcher Arms is ready to help you take advantage of the opportunity in a way that fits your goals, your timeline, and your budget.

Thanks to the passage of the Big Beautiful Bill, the world of NFA items—particularly suppressors—is about to change. Starting January 1, 2026, the $200 tax stamp that has long been a requirement for suppressor ownership will be eliminated.

This is a huge win for gun owners across the country.

But while the tax stamp may be going away in the future, the NFA process remains firmly in place—meaning you’ll still need to go through the same federal background check and approval process to legally own a suppressor. That includes fingerprinting, passport photos, and ATF approval—none of that is changing.

So, the big question is: Should you wait until 2026? Or act now while approval times are at historic lows?

At Fletcher Arms, we’re giving you two flexible purchasing paths to help you make the best choice based on your priorities. Whether you’re looking to save money or time, we’ve got you covered.

Option 1: Free Track – Wait to Save

Looking to save that $200 tax stamp? The Free Track option is for you.

Here’s how it works:

  • You’ll pay in full for your suppressor now.

  • Fletcher Arms will store your suppressor in our secure safe until it’s eligible for processing.

  • While your item is in storage, you’ll be able to use it on our range—a Fletcher Arms exclusive benefit.

  • Once we get closer to 2026, we’ll initiate the NFA process for your suppressor on a first-ordered, first-processed basis.

  • Approval times will depend on Silencer Shop processing, ATF demand, and overall volume.

⚠️ Important Note: We fully expect a massive spike in applications as 2026 approaches. That means wait times for approval could increase dramatically. While this is a budget-friendly route, it may come with significantly longer delays for getting your suppressor home.

Free Track is the smart choice if:

  • You want to save $200 and don’t mind waiting.

  • You’re a regular at Fletcher Arms and plan to use your suppressor on-site.

  • You’re willing to accept a longer wait in exchange for the cost savings.

Option 2: Fast Track – Don’t Wait to Wait

If your goal is to get your suppressor as soon as possible, the Fast Track is the clear winner.

Here’s what you get:

  • You’ll pay in full for both your suppressor and the current $200 tax stamp.

  • Fletcher Arms will immediately link your item to your Silencer Shop account and start the paperwork right away.

  • You’ll still be able to use your item on our range while you wait.

  • Processing time is lightning fast right now—typically 1 to 5 business days once your account information is complete.

  • Approval wait times are the shortest they’ve ever been—but that could change rapidly as more people rush to beat the 2026 cutoff.

Fast Track is the smart choice if:

  • You want to beat the rush and get your suppressor home quickly.

  • You’re willing to pay the $200 tax stamp now to avoid long wait times later.

  • You want your NFA process initiated immediately for peace of mind and less uncertainty.

So, What’s Right for You?

The choice comes down to time vs. money. With the Free Track, you avoid the $200 tax stamp but face an uncertain and potentially long wait. With the Fast Track, you lock in today’s fast approval times—but pay the stamp fee.

Both options let you secure your suppressor now, store it safely at Fletcher Arms, and use it on our range while you wait.

Still not sure which is best for you? Our team is here to help you talk through the details and make the right decision based on your needs.

Stop in, call us, or email our suppressor experts today—we’ll walk you through everything.

Don’t Wait Until 2026 to Decide

Suppressor prices are unlikely to drop, and demand is only going to grow as we approach the 2026 tax stamp repeal date. Whether you choose Free Track or Fast Track, acting now ensures you don’t miss your place in line.

At Fletcher Arms, we’re proud to support your Second Amendment rights—and give you choices that put you in control.

Ready to start the process? We’re ready when you are.
