Meet
Megan Eaton
What led you to being an owner of Fletcher Arms? “Prior to meeting Sean, I had never touched a firearm. I truly had no interest. We had our son, Lucas, in 2011, and Sean had asked if I could come in and help with some paperwork. I came in on Black Friday 2011 and I never left! I slowly started taking on more responsibilities as the business continued to grow and change. Eventually, I became part owner.”
Background? “2019 is when I began to take a bigger interest in shooting and training. I began to assist with classes and coordinating the courses. In 2020 I became a certified instructor with the USCCA. In 2021 I got the opportunity to not only begin writing my own curriculum, but I was able to begin taking the lead on many of our courses.”
Megan is certified in CCHDF and DSF from the USCCA and has completed training courses at Gunsite Academy.
Why are you passionate about firearms? I wouldn’t say I am passionate about firearms. I am passionate about people. I love to see people happy, confident, and successful. I think that firearms can play a role in that. It is deeply satisfying to be able to discuss firearms with folks, especially women.
Favorite Class to Teach? I love teaching concealed carry because I want people to feel the gravity of what could happen. I love that people leave the class with a greater sense of preparedness for defending themselves and others. Also, helping with any part of our handgun series brings me joy.
Why Did You Get into Instructing? It was a product of the times. Covid gave us more students that one instructor could handle. The demand for training and education inspired me to try something I never thought I would. Now, 3 years in, it is my absolute favorite part of my job.
Background in Training: I am a USCCA certified instructor in Concealed Carry and Home Defense Fundamentals, DSF 1 & 2, Emergency First Aid, Women’s Handgun Fundamentals, and Countering the Mass Shooter. I’ve attended courses at Gunsite Academy and Protective Edge Training.
